We started our final day in London by heading to Kensington. There was a run of some sort going on in Kensington Gardens, but it was easy to maneuver around. On the way to Kensington Gardens, we passed by Royal Albert Hall. How many holes does it take to fill the Albert Hall? Across from Royal Albert Hall, at the edge of Kensington Gardens, is the Albert Memorial.
We checked out Kensington Palace (we didn’t enter/tour the palace, just viewed it from the front gates). Teresa really wanted to see the Diana Sunken Garden, but it was closed for the winter.
Royal Sighting!
We were just about to leave Kensington Gardens when we saw a helicopter approaching. We ran over to the fence near where it landed and saw Kate, the Princess of Wales, heading off to the Palace. Someone yelled “Hi Kate!”, and she waved. Too bad I didn’t have my proper camera. I’ve cropped one of the images to enlarge the photo of Kate, and it ended up looking like a Bigfoot photo!
On to Abbey Road
Our next stop (and post) will be Abbey Road. We were going to take the tube, but decided on a double-decker bus instead. We were able to snag the very front seats at the top!
