London Day 4, Part 2: Leake Street Arches

Entrance to the Leake Street Arches (Graffiti Tunnel)

The Leake Street Arches (aka the Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel) is a tunnel that runs under the Waterloo Station. The Eurostar used to operate out of the tunnel, before it eventually moved to St. Pancras Station. It sat abandoned until Banksy proposed to revitalize it with a street art festival in 2008. Since then it’s been an authorized spot for graffiti/street art, and is constantly changing.

There were several artists (including a few kids) working on pieces while we were there.

If you like street art, this is a must-see.

Don’t forget to look up! The ceilings were also works of art.
