Restaurants and Bars in Croatia

Below are a list of restaurants we’ve personally visited in Croatia and can recommend. All reviews were as of the time we visited.

Dubrovnik

  • Fratellos Restaurant & Bar – Just outside the old town, this restaurant has amazing views and excellent food. More in this post.
  • Panini Bar Franco Romano – Highly recommended! Try the “Delizioso” panini: focaccia, mortadella, stracciatella (cheese), pistachio cream, and crumbled pistachios. More in this post.
  • Peppino’s Gelato Garden – We passed this shop many times, thinking it was a tourist trap (the “Best Gelato in Dubrovnik” sign scared us off). We were wrong! We finally visited, and it really was the best gelato in Dubrovnik! More in this post.

Korčula

  • Aurora – Restaurant right along the water. Delicious! The grilled chicken thighs with grilled veggies and sweet potato puree was outstanding. More in this post.
  • SILK Pan-Asian Fusion and Izakaya – The Pad Thai and sushi were both excellent.

Rastoke Village

  • Konoba Pod rastočkim krovom – Neslted in the tiny picturesque village of Rastoke, Konoba Pod was a cozy tavern with fresh and delicious food. Try the fresh trout. More in this post.

Rovinj

  • Mediterraneo Bar – Tiny little bar with spectacular views. Seating goes right down to the edge of the water. See photos in this post.
  • Puntalina – Spectacular restaurant very close to Mediterraneo Bar, also with spectacular views. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, including some small tables nestled among the rocks below. My sliced ribeye with chimichurri on top of a bed of grilled veggies was one of the best meals of the trip. More in this post.
  • Pizzeria Stari Grad – Very good Neapolitan style pizza. The pizza tonno was especially delicious. More in this post.
  • Balbi Restaurant – In old town Rovinj. Nice wine selection, and the food was good with the exception of the stuffed squid, which was a tad overcooked. 5 out of 6 were good, so hopefully the one so-so dish was an anomaly. More in this post.

Šibenik

  • Bronzin Restaurant – Spectacular. We all loved our food. The veal burger with maasdam cheese and onion confit might be the best burger I’ve ever had. They have an open kitchen which is fun to watch. The squid ink risotto and lasagna were also excellent. More in this post.
